About me

Dr. Nicolas Prionas is a radiation oncologist who cares for adults with all types of cancer. He has a special interest in treating breast cancer.

In research, Prionas focuses on developing new technologies to improve the early detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. He is also interested in exploring applications of technology to increase access to equitable cancer care.

Prionas earned a bachelor's degree in biomedical computation and a master's degree in biomechanical engineering at Stanford University. At the University of California, Davis, he earned both a doctorate in biomedical engineering and his medical degree. He completed a residency in radiation oncology at Stanford Medicine.

Prionas is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society for Radiation Oncology, Radiological Society of North America, American Brachytherapy Society and American Association of Physicists in Medicine. He speaks Greek and Spanish.

      Dr. Prionas showed such compassion and support during my radiation oncology consult. I appreciated his kindness, professionalism, and knowledge In his area of expertise. He was able to explain all options including risks and benefit in language I could understand answered all my questions all while being so thoughtful. Overall I was truly impressed!

      Dr. Prionas is amazing. I wish he could be my oncologist. First person to bring me through my entire pathology report and be able to answer all my questions and give context to my particular cancer.

      Dr. Prionas was the best! He read my history carefully and went over my situation, giving me additional understanding of my surgery and diagnosis. I especially appreciate how thorough and clear he was when going over the different scenarios and possible treatments going forward. I felt that he really cared about his patients and was extremely knowledgeable and experienced, communicating his expertise in an organized and caring fashion. Thank you!

      Dr Prionas is kind, caring and a great listener.. In addition to being a well-informed and great doctor, He made me feel comfortable from day one and I still feel the same way today.Offered suggestions to help my issues and made sure to let me know if I needed or wanted anything else to contact him!
