About me

Dr. Danielle Brandman is a liver specialist with particular expertise in treating patients who have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease or need liver transplants. She also treats conditions including cirrhosis, primary biliary cirrhosis, liver cancer, autoimmune hepatitis, hepatitis B and primary sclerosing cholangitis.

In her research, Brandman studies nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and post-transplant metabolic syndrome, a common condition following transplant surgery that is associated with poor outcomes.

Brandman earned her medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. At UCSF, she completed a residency in internal medicine, followed by fellowships in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology. She also earned a master of advanced study degree in clinical research at UCSF.

Brandman is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
